Write and illustrate a picture-book, guided by South African illustrator Piet Grobler. Be inspired by the setting and the inhabitants of the lovely Greek island of Lesbos to create that story that you have been hoping to tell for a long time!

|Day 3||Characters looking for stories: Drawing people and animals from observation in town or in the countryside|
|Day 4||Plot it: Conceptualising your story with the information you have gathered and create a story board.|
|Day 5||Illustrate! Show-and-tell, feedback and practical illustration by using analogue (non-digital or traditional) hand- techniques and mediums|

Piet Grobler has illustrated 80 books of which many have been awarded internationally – amongst others, a Golden Apple at the Biennale for Illustration in Bratislava and the French Octogône de Chéne. His work has been translated into 16 languages. Piet has served on several international juries for picture book illustration competitions for example the BIB (Bratislava) and the Chen Bochui- award in China. He is a full-time freelancer and Visiting Professor at the University of Worcester, UK, where he taught for eight years.
